The Afrikan Collective was birthed around the idea and concept of creating an online digital community for Afrikan creatives. Africa is filled with outstanding and diverse visual communication. Unfortunately, there still does not exist a unified Afrikan forum to represent, showcase and profile the Visual Communication Community of Afrika.

 

The Afrikan Visual Communication Community is in need of this forum, because without such a forum, the Afrika visual communication community is misrepresented, uninformed and isolated from the fast growing global Visual Communication Community, worldwide. This can only stagnant and undermine the tremendous talent found in Afrika’s visual community, which then finds itself showcasing itself out of the continent as products and sources that are now trade marked as “non-Afrikan”. The need for an Afrikan Forum profiling the Afrikan Visual Communication Community is not only relevant but also long overdue.

 

Our aim is to strengthen as a continent by taking on an identity and credibility of its own, without the need to be spoken for, on the platforms of other continents. We also aim to encourage, support, showcase and celebrate each other as Afrikan’s. The Afrikan Collective is therefor envisaged as the platform for Afrikan creatives to engage the global creative community
