Could you give me a short bio of yourself

I am a designer with a passion for illustration. I’m inspired by everything I see in my day-to-day African life. My hope is to illustrate my experiences and have others see what I see through my drawings.

Name of your featuring project

Nest– African folklores archive

Please explain the project to us in detail (journey, inspiration, message, influence, and what are you trying to communicate through your creative outlet.

As a child, my grandparents told me a lot of folklore stories and to my mind, they explained why things where the way they were. As an adult I often wish I had such whimsical stories to explain things. So this project is a way to get those stories back for myself and for others who may have had a similar childhood to mine. Through this project, I am hoping to bring African folklore stories back to the African homes and create a platform where anyone can have access to these stories. More importantly, this project is for African children growing up in a world dominated by Western media and narratives; to remind them they have stories and entertainment of their own and to keep them in touch with their roots.

What advice would you give other creatives?

Be your most authentic self and tell your own stories, and never stop practicing and refining your craft.
